Delegation of  Ministry of  Economy and Regional Development, led by State Secretary Mrs Jasna Matic, visited India on 02-04 April 2008.  During this visit, first session of  Serbia-India Joint Economic Committee  was held on 02 April, at official level of deputy co-Chairs. The delegation of the Republic of Serbia was headed by Mrs Jasna Matic, State Secretary, Ministry of Economy and Regional Development and delegation of the Republic of India was headed by Dr Rahul Khullar, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Commerce and Industry. During this meeting views on economic situation and trade relations were exchanged, including review of the areas of economic cooperation and measures for developing bilateral trade. Both sides agreed to boost existing cooperation undertaken in the framework of different sectors and to encourage closer cooperation within them.

Apart from this, Mrs Jasna Matic paid a courtesy call on Mr Jairam Ramesh, Minister of State in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of India and visited Federation of India Export Organizations and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry. During the one-day visit of Serbian delegation to Mumbai, meeting with the minister of finance of the Government Maharashtra  Jayant Rajaram Patil was held, as well as meetings with the representatives of “Indian Merchant Chambers” and several reputable Indian companies.”
